• Sammy Millers motorcycle museum - this is a short journey past The Walkford Pub, along Gore Road, turn left in to Stem Lane and at the end take a left turn and you'll see the entrance to Sammy Millers. I won't tell you too much about it so as not to spoil the treat, it's a good half day and has The Bashley Tea Rooms on site if you fancy a cake or something more substantial.. • Buckler's Hard - Allow a day for a trip to Buckler's Hard. It's about 40 minutes from Highcliffe by car but it's worth it. We' live in Highcliffe and have been three times and will visit again. Museum and Visitor Centre, Village 'as it was', River Cruise. Dine at the Master Builder's House. Top Tip - Pick up the Buckler's Hard leaflet from the dispensers at various locations in Highcliffe for 20% off Museum Admission.

• Highcliffe Castle - Well, you're in Highcliffe so it would be rude not to pop in to the Castle. An hour or so would do it, but also take the opportunity to walk down the zigzag path to the beach and perhaps stop at the lovely Beach Hut Café at Friar's Cliff Beach. Walk a bit further and enjoy a lunch at The Noisy Lobster at Avon Beach. Just typing it makes me want to do it again. Car parking and toilets on site, 
• Burley Village - 15 minutes from Highcliffe takes you to Burley in the New Forest. Often you will encounter ponies and cattle wandering the streets, so expect to slow your pace right down, it's very calming if you allow it to be. Sometime you will come across pigs too.
  You can hire bicycles walk to explore the New Forest. Plenty of unique shops and eateries to visit. 3 pubs in the village (The Burley Inn, Queen's Head, Wathen Bartlett), plus The White Buck just a short walk outside the village.

• Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park - 32 minutes drive from Highcliffe takes you to this award winning day out. Our granddaughter loved this place and so did I. Daily shows, tractor and carriage rides, farm yard tour, world war 1 field trenches, bygone days exhibits, play areas and the Western Cafe.
• Paultons Park - 35 minutes drive from Highcliffe is Paultons Park with amusements, thrill rides and the home of Peppa Pig World. This can be a one or two day visit, we've been many times as the grandchildren love Peppa Pig World and Critter Creek.
  It's fun for adults and older children too as there is much bigger rides at Lost Kingdom. Over 70 rides and attractions.
